I think that everything posted was very reasonable. However, consider this, what if you wrote a catchier title? I am not suggesting your content is not solid., however what if you added a title to possibly grab a person's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little vanilla. You should peek at Yahoo's front page and see how they write news headlines to grab people to open the links. You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to grab people excited about what you've got to say. Just my opinion, it might make your website a little bit more interesting.
